Ivett Leyva
California Institute of Technology

Ivett Leyva is a Ph.D candidate in Aeronautics at Caltech working with Prof. Hans Hornung. She obtained her Master's degree in Aeronautics and her B.S. in Engineering and Applied Science from Caltech. Her research has focused on the effects of chemical and vibrational nonequilibrium in the detachment process on cones in hypervelocity flows. This has been both experimental and numerical study, the experimental part has been done at Caltech's hypervelocity shock reflected tunnel, T5 and the numerical part has been done using a Navier Stokes solver with chemical and vibrational nonequilibrium written by Joe Olejniczack, Ph.D. from NASA Ames.
