W.C. Reynolds, Professor

Prof. Reynolds is currently Director of the Center for Integrated Turbulence Simulations at Stanford University and past Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Apart from sabbaticals at various places, including Caltech, his career has been at Stanford, where he began as a student in 1950. His principal work has been in applied thermodynamics and turbulence. He has been awarded the Fluids Engineering Award of the ASME, the Otto Laporte Award of the American Physical Society, the Fluid Dynamics award of the AIAA, and elected to the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
