Sanjay Kumar earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur(India) in 1994 and 1996 repectively. He worked for two years from 1996-98 in Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO (India). Since then he has been at Caltech, working towards his Ph.D.
