William Young

Bill Young's introduction to fluid mechanics occurred as an undergraduate at the Australian National University in a class taught by Hans Hornung. Surmounting this adversity, Young subsequently obtained his Ph. D. in physical oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1981. He has been a professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD since 1988. Young's research interests are include the global ocean circulation, geophysical fluid dynamics and applied mathematics.
