James Riley

Jim Riley received his Ph.D. in 1972 from the Johns Hopkins University working with Stan Corrsin. He did post-doctoral studies at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and subsequently joined Flow Research Company as a research scientist. In 1983 he joined the University of Washington, where he is now a professor in Mechanical Engineering, and an adjunct professor in Applied Mathematics. He has worked on a broad range of problems in fluid mechanics, and most recently his research has focused on turbulent reacting flows, and density-stratified turbulent flows.
