B.Sc. in Math & Physics from the University of Toronto (1979)

Ph.D. in Meteorology from M.I.T. (1984); worked with Jule Charney and Peter Rhines.

Post-doc at Cambridge with Michael McIntyre.

On professorial faculty at Dept of Physics, Univ of Toronto since 1988; full professor since 1996.

Won NSERC Steacie Fellowship in 1995.

Was Lead Author (with A.R. Ravishankara) of chapter on Lower Stratospheric Processes of 1998 WMO/UNEP Ozone Assessment.

Is Coordinating Lead Author (with John Pyle) of chapter on Ozone and Climate in upcoming IPCC Special Report on Safeguarding the Ozone Layer (2005).

Currently Chief Editor, Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences.
