Currently a group leader and "scientist of excellence" at DLR's Turbulence Research Branch in Berlin, Dr. Bechert has also worked as a scientist at the Technical Universities in Dornstadt and Berlin, as well as the Max-Planck Institute in Gottingen. He was also a visiting Associate Professor at the University of Houston. He has published about 80 papers in such fields as: receptivity, stability, jet control and noise, high-speed trains, combustors, bio-fluid mechanics, drag reduction, and flow control.
