Michael Dennin received his Ph.D. from UCSB working on pattern formation with Guenter Ahlers and David Cannell. The focus of his thesis was on electroconvection in nematic liquid crystals. Professor Dennin then did a post-doc at UCLA with Chuck Knobler, working on two-dimensional flow problems using Langmuir monolayers. He is now an assistant professor at UCI in the Physics department, continuing work on spatio-temporal chaos and two-dimensional flows of complex fluids.
