The chief designer and lead experimentalist will share the story of the GALCIT 2.5" Supersonic Wind Tunnel. This tunnel was the first of its kind in North America, and set the standard for a series of successful GALCIT compressible-flow facilities. Dr. Puckett will detail the design, construction, and debugging of this landmark facility, in addition to discussing a few experiments, with selected schlieren images.
